EDT Framework is an architecture consisting of various users, databases, systems and tools involved in creation of AGCO's Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) and its content, to perform diagnostics on AGCO's end products.

Background

Before EDT, AGCO:
1. Did not have a unified approach to provide diagnostic services to tools used for diverse brands of product lines.
2. Did not have a standardized distribution method for software updates on products.
3. Had only limited diagnostic functionality to existing software support for products.
4. Had uncoordinated brand-specific diagnostic tool development.
5. Had costly tool development, deployment and maintenance.

AGCO developed Electronic Diagnostic Tool(EDT) to centralize, integrate, uniform, coordinate, report and budget control, with the the Dealership investment to provide a common diagnostic tool platform that supports multiple product lines across all AGCO brands worldwide. All new AGCO product platforms from 2008 will require the EDT for diagnostics, except some Fendt products that are supported by 'Fendias'.

The content for EDT is developed by Content Authors using a tool called Vehicle Database Wizard(VDW).
